Small changes make a big difference

I often talk with clients about how small steps lead to big results. How tiny reminders and small tweaks lead to permanent changes.

 

One book I frequently recommend is Atomic Habits by James Clear. Do I love every single page? You bet I do. Here are Clear’s 4 Laws of How to Build a Better Habit:

 

  1. Make it obvious

  2. Make it attractive

  3. Make it easy

  4. Make it satisfying

 

He breaks these down further and every bit of information is helpful. But what I love the most is he also discusses the inversion of the 4 Laws, or How to Break a Bad Habit:

 

  1. Make it invisible

  2. Make it unattractive

  3. Make it difficult

  4. Make it unsatisfying
