Reader Question: My children are grown and have told me they don’t want the boxes of their old stuff currently in my basement. I’d like to sell my home and move to a smaller place this year. I will donate the clothing, but I think there are some old toys, games, CDs, and Disney movies that could be worth something. How do I sell them? My Answer: First think about how much time you are willing to invest in this project. Next think about how much your time is worth. Finally, what amount of money would be worth spending the time on this project? Now consider these options:
Donate everything
Post for sale as lots on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, NextDoor etc.
Sell individually on eBay
Sell to local vintage toy/game stores like Meep Meepleton’s World of Fun, Sig’s Treasure Chest, or Bricks & Minifigs.
Sell vinyl, cassettes, CDs, VHS, and more to local shops like Strictly Discs, Mad City Music, The Door, B-Side Records, Boneset Records, or Video Game X-Change.
Regarding the Disney movies, start by reading this article.
